Angela & Daniel Schmid
Instead of working a 9-5 job, hating our commute to work and wearing fancy clothes. We roll out of bed, brew up a cup of coffee, head to the barn, flip on the lights and greet the girls for morning milking.
You never know what they day will bring on the farm but everyday is challenging and exhausting yet oddly satisfying. We milk a 60 head ( and growing) herd in a double 6 herringbone swing parlor and we have about 50 young stock.
When you come to the farm for a stay, you can have as much or as little interaction with us as you want. Guests are more than welcome to be included in all things on the dairy farm. If you prefer privacy, we respect that. Just know that we are always available should you need anything while you are here. You can always get us by phone throughout the day.
We Were 110% Satisfied
My family and I stayed at this house the first week of September and we were satisfied 110%. When we first arrived, Angela and Dan visited us and gave us a warm welcome and suggestions on places to eat and visit during our stay. The next day, Angela stopped by on the way and took us to their farm, where she gave us an overview of the farm and let my kids help her feed the cows, stack hay, etc. That evening, she invited us up to her farm again to help her milk the cows, feed the baby calves, and meet her dogs, Riley and French. She also later went out of her way and took us to her friend’s farm to see and feed alpacas, llamas, and donkeys. We will definitely go back again!!
Perfect for Getting Away
Had an amazing weekend here with my family. The entire area is beautiful, the rental home is priced very reasonably and has everything you could need. Dan and Angela are both awesome, and they were very happy to help with anything we needed. We were able to wander the massive property, get to know some of the very friendly animals, enjoy the scenery and let our dogs play in the yard. Star gazing is unlike anything you can do near the city, and watching the very distant lightning storm was awesome. The kids were even able to spot Mars, which we had never seen from our home area. Bring binoculars or a telescope if you have one! Expect a very different way of life here, perfect for getting away from the city/suburb life. My family and I will absolutely be visiting again in the future!
Book This Farmstay
Book this Farm Stay! The farm is absolutely beautiful! We could smell the sweet hay and the views were spectacular. You have got to check out the stars at night! The home is SO clean and we had everything we needed and more. It’s especially great for little ones as a crib, and many other baby essentials were provided. My family really enjoyed touring the farm and I fell in love with those cows! They all have different personalities and Angela tells the best stories about them. The whole farm is beautiful but the view from the top of the hill was simply breathtaking. Dan is fantastic to and my 5 year old loved learning about the tractors! I also suggest taking them up on the delicious fresh food available for purchase. We had a very yummy affordable farm to table meal and the veggies and pork chops were delivered right to our table... literally. We will be back and I suggest you book a visit. The hospitality is unmatched.
